Our chapter is open to new members and would like to grow. The optimum number is between 30 and 35. Generally we lose members because they have become too busy with their business to attend our bi-monthlly meeting. We wish them well, and are glad that we, as their Friends, helped them. Through the experience of our chapter and affiliated chapters, we know of several categories of businesses that contribute and are “a good fit for our type of organization. We look for centers of influence that can help all of our members grow their businesses

Join our Group

After you have attended two meetings you must apply for membership to continue receiving the benefits of membership and attending the meetings. The monthly fee is $14.00 that pays for lunch and a donation to the All Saints Catholic Church for the use of their facility as well as web-site fees and other means of communication.

Application Process

A prospective member may attend two meetings as a visitor. Prospective Members must complete the application, and submit it with full payment to the Membership Committee for review. The Membership Committee will complete the screening process and notify the prospective member of acceptance or non-acceptance before the next meeting. Upon acceptance, the Membership Committee will notify the President who will announce the new member at the next meeting, and forward the payment for annual dues to the Treasurer.
Upon joining, new members should bring at least 50 business cards to the initial weekly meeting to distribute to members. The new member will receive referral slips and multiple business cards from all other members to retain and use for passing referrals.

Friends in Business members meet at a set time and place for bi-monthly meetings. These meetings have agendas, presentations by group members, as well as time for conducting group business. Most importantly, each meeting ends with the passing of referrals from group members. Members are also encouraged to meet with each other for personal one on one lunches, or other gatherings in order to get to know each other on a more personal level.

In addition, team members are encouraged to continually seek out and invite other specialists who would be an appropriate fit to the team to visit and possibly be invited to join the team. However, once a specialty is represented and so long as the individual representing that specialty is a member in good standing, that specialty is “closed” and others from that specialty will not be allowed to join the team, i.e., there is a limit of one team member per specialty.

Business people interested in joining Friends in Business are encouraged to contact one of our members. They will gather some information (for introduction purposes only) and greet you at the meeting.
